Possibility 1:
A valid OPITO-approved Rigger Initial Training Certificate awarded within the previous 32 months; AND
A fully completed and valid OPITO Rigger Workplace Experience Logbook and supporting evidence for each of the 50 tasks (e.g., lifting plan, permit, or toolbox talk) based on the OPITO Rigger Initial Training Standard and Rigger Workplace Experience Logbook requirements.
Note: Supporting evidence is not required for learners who completed the Initial Training Standard between February 29th, 2020, and February 28th, 2022.
Note: If a learner completed the Initial Training Standard between November 1st, 2021, and November 30th, 2023, they require a logbook with supporting evidence for 10 tasks.
The logbook must be signed as true and valid by the employing company head of discipline or discipline manager and confirmed by the Centre prior to assessment.
OR Possibility 2:
Learner must possess a valid OPITO approved Rigger Competence or Rigger Competence Re-Assessment Certificate awarded within the previous thirty (30) months.
OR Possibility 3:
Evidence that they have been assessed as competent and have achieved an equivalent qualification/certification by a nationally recognized awarding body, awarded within the previous 30 months; AND
A copy of the alternative certification must be provided together with the list of topics covered from the awarding institution to verify the equivalency of the learner’s qualification/certification.
Cost includes lunch and drinks.
Due to the physical demands of the course, it is the responsibility of the employer and participant to assess the participant’s ability to safely attend the Course.
